i think that formula can work if it's executed well enough but lately i think it just hasn't been. i think the last blockbusters i enjoyed were the sherlock holmes movies and edge of tomorrow, both of which had all those things but they were executed well. and i liked interstellar too, if that counts as a blockbuster
