a program called caesium. i can just drag and drop the files then tick a few boxes to get it to overwrite the old files and hit compress. it doesn't seem to be the most powerful when it comes to actually compressing the images but fansite photos are so horribly optimized that filesizes still get reduced by 80% or more without any noticeable difference
