Perhaps they got disillusioned with outer-world populations / governments and chose to instead focus on their own internal affairs to improve themselves so they can grow big and strong to the point where they will have 100% capability to take on the world, and only then they will start manipulating the outer world? Or something else happened? OR the state of the world is the way it is exactly due to their actions? Maybe they want the outer world divided and use specific parts of it for their own experiments? Possibilities are endless and you should only focus on the truth, facts and reality, don't let your mind form conjectures and then treat them as facts. That will only lead you astray from the truth.
