I thought that was all that mattered too, and then you meet a few interse? es who are xxy and suddenly you realize it's really about a lack of a y chromosome. and then there are turner syndrome women who only have 1 x chromosome, and nothing else, and they are clearly women.
also, there are men with xx where one of the x chromosomes has the sry region of the y chromosome.
