>>21188842Broccoli isn't as addictive as ultra processed foods though. Banning ultra processed foods or taxing them to the point that they're unaffordable isn't really going to work either. Pandora's Box was opened a while ago on the processed food industry. Once they're obese, they've programmed themselves to keep eating something, anything, to feel satiated even if junk food isn't available
Another thing to consider is that, between broccoli and ultra processed foods, we have a middle ground:
Real food or "healthy food."
What a lot of people who demagogue fast food and processed foods frequently overlook is the fact that it's possible to pig out on perfectly healthy food. In fact, I see this all the time; they may not be eating fries and chips, but they are gorging themselves on other stuff that WOULD be healthy if they ate it in WAY SMALLER portions.
Ultimately, portion control is the key here, not type of food that's available
About the only thing that will work is a program of mandatory GLP-1 drug administration as prerequisite for participating in mainstream society.
