Akempis is good for Protestants, Catholics, and EO. One of those uniting figures like an Augustine.
The monastic and ascetic path is often what God is calling His autistic children to, and sadly in the West this path is often discouraged.
Imitation of Christ is the best possible book a Protestant can read, as it gets into that world, but Akempis sounds Protestant like Augustine, there isn't any talk about Mary, etc... It's all about seeking the face of Christ.
