>>15166747Well i'm a research scientist. Geneticist to be specific. I do research on ageing, anti ageing technology and specifically transposons and epigenetics.
It's a really fun job for OK pay. Fundamental research makes fuck all, but i kind of work on the edge of fundamental and industry. The professor who has kind of adopted me as his protégé has found some interesting practical applications to our current work, and has given me a decent position in a new company he has founded to patent and sell said aplications. If things go well, i'll be a millionair. If not, i'll still be well off.
Over all, though the work is quite tiring and demanding at times, i reall enjoy it and in general, i enjoy my life.
As for whats best for autists, well science is really autism friendly, but only if you are a hard working autist. But that infamous autistic focus can be put to good use and turned into something respectable and admired.
