Currently we are experiencing about 32 significant earthquakes per day, the number is increasing as well as magnitude.
This will increase, as the Earth makes it's quarter turn, where the geographic poles synchronize with the magnetic poles. The pole changes are not what causes the most destruction, it's the centrifugal force of the rotation of the earth acting upon the land masses, as a new equator is established.
Some land masses will rise near the new equator, some land masses currently on the equator will become much lower.
