>>13519689Double ignorance vs Hesitation. They think in those terms more often than not. So when they get mad, they get mad. I've seen it, when I talk to them. When the wheels start to turn in their head. And it breaks my heart, but I have to interrupt the turning, so it won't turn too fast. But when the wheels turn, I've seen something I didn't know existed in their eyes, and even though it's not directed at me I feel a most peculiar horror. I guess it's because I can't think like them, so I don't have that thing in me.
As an aside, I think that's part of their [those who speak the Inevitable Future] game too, though. Long before I knew a lot of people had that kind of thing in them, they knew it too. And they do things they know would stoke it, because the struggle against it makes them stronger.
