i'm dying to see the gattling towers in action, but at that point in the game the ai is nowhere near the regions where my most developed fortresses are. so custom battle is my only option. plus i think the earlier (pre-empire/napoleon) total wars don't have a good co-op campaign mechanic. me and a friend of mine played m2: kingdoms together but that was hot seat, not over the internet.
