>>13895510The scarjo version is NOT better. However, I will say the original ghost in the shell movie is a bit overrated and not the best introduction to the franchise. The first half is solid sci fi action, but it ends with the hero and villain waxing philosophical for about twenty minutes when most people would expect a fight scene. The ending feels underwhelming for most viewers. I didnt like it until I rewatched it after watching stand alone complex. Stand alone complex is a phenomenal cyberpunk procedural series. The best depiction of ghost in the shell and, I think, the best depiction of the entire cyberpunk genre. If you want something overtly /pol/ related, I would recommend legend of galactic heroes if you want something slow and attack on titan if you want something very exciting and you dont mind that normies like it. Attack on titan seems to make a commentary on the holocaust that upsets lots of viewers. But in the end, anime is shit and manga is king. I recently read monster and liked it alot. Not exactly based or redpilled, but it's set in 90s Germany after the wall comes down and a japanese neurosurgeon tries to track down a serial killer that is being groomed by neo nazis to be hitler 2.0. Very compelling read.
