Yeah, the argument about masks not working is entirely garbage. Just use the right kind. Pretty much everyone knows to use n95/pp3 by now. But even the regular surgical masks still limit spread from people who already carry it and so on. Just all around pretty dumb.
I get the feeling that a lot of people are choosing to be willfully ignorant about it because they know it's too late to do anything about it now anyway since no one has any kind of masks in stock.
