i dont actually let my army sit inside settlements, usually the are all out camping ready to attack incoming armies.

Like I have them in a strategic spot so they are able to travel to an army to attack them within one turn and Im going to repeat this strategy with my southern army (more battles)

yeah sure it is feasible to imagine that if you allow yourself to be surrounded by enemies than that is a death sentence but also as an attacker i must never be lenient and always strive for the best results in case of infantry vs infantry: using multiple infantry to swarm one unit of infantry from all sides. and use the entirety of my archers ammo to destroy an enemy army if possible because they are scarcely able to defend themselves against arrows like the strikes of a sword
