>>4767852>Haven't experienced this. Not with prior friends, or family. And you're not going to, if you're spending your time making up these horror stories in your head, rather than taking risks and socializing
>something something betray on a whimWell I don't "hope", actually, I'm confident in my friends. I just didn't want to sound pretentious by assuming they hold me in decent regard.
And sure, they CAN betray me, though probably not completely on a whim for no reason, as you describe.
But look at it this way, a car CAN hit me any time I go outside. Should I just stop going outside, by your logic?
I wouldn't be calling these people friends, if I weren't at least somewhat certain, that they're not the type to completely 180 turn on me for literally no reason. This certainty doesn't come in a day, of course.
>You just accept that you're an 'animal'?Why, do you consider that degrading? We obey the same laws of biology as any other mammal.
Just because we have the brain capacity for a conscious awareness of this doesn't mean we're some transcended beings, and not just an exceptionally smart breed of apes.
>That can be de-conditioned over time.Maybe by abundance, definitely not abstinence.
