In 99 I remember if the door bell rang, it would be me, my brother and our dog in this whirlwind tornado of pushing, barking, and sliding all over the kitchen linoleum to be the first to get to the front door and open it.
I'm not gonna say it was like a 90's sitcom where people just showed up all the time. But yeah, people just showed up and you were glad to see them.
