But occasionally you see a regular park visitor. You know them by name, slow down and shoot the shit with them for a few minutes. "Hey how are the kids? See catch the game last night? We should grab a beer sometime, my wife wants to have a picnic up here sometime, come join us!", Shit like that. Now imagine having that casual lengthy conversation all while still doing your normal work. That's basically what an internal monologue is like. I can do tasks independently of what I'm thinking about, so while doing my usual shit at work which is quite automatic, I can think about topics that interest me, or sing along with my music in my head.
Actually, how do people with no internal monologue get songs stuck in their head? Is that even possible for them? I couldn't stand not being able to listen to music in my head whenever I want.
