Use emotional, rather than logical arguments, that's how you get the most traction. Focus on short, indirectly accusatory attacks. My favorite was "don't our kids deserve a good education?" Its hard to argue with things like that. It's easy to argue with "x promises to increase educational spending by y" because those words are analytical.
