S(t)oicism is theravada buddhism repackaged for ancient roman soitheists who rejected metaphysics but still dabbled into pointless squabbles on abstract lists of virtues and vices devised to turn the lower classes into the ideal cattle for the good of the pozzed empire. It shares the same escathological views and the same goal but instead of nibbana and escape from samsara the ultimate goal becomes just "act le good feel le good", it's no different from new age faiths which diluted the spiritual aspects of their original source religions. The west never excelled in matters of the spirit.
