>>20033632>>20033634Me too. I found it when I saw someone talk about it on here, and I discovered it's also the Bible that the late great Dr. Charles Stanley preached from.
OP, there's two main things you need to consider: First, is the Bible translated word-for-word, or thought-for-thought? you always want a word-for-word translation, because thought-for-thought is at the mercy of the translator.
The NASB is an interesting case, because it has gone back and forth between word-for-word and thought-for-thought.
The NASB 1995 is hailed as the greatest word-for-word translation in modern history, with good reason. Whereas the modernized NASB 2020 was thought-for-thought, and the translators did stupid stuff like writing "brothers and sisters" instead of "brothers" because "there were probably women in the audience". So always stick to the NASB 1995
Secondly, you want to look at the age of the texts that were used as source material for the translations. Generally speaking, the older the better. The KJV is beloved because it is a solid word-for-word translation, but the NASB 1995 translators actually used OLDER texts as source material than the KJV translators did.
Good luck and God bless OP.
