>>20812047We have so many choices for god, most or all of the current gods on the roster are fake, made up stories by people. We wouldn't need prophets speaking for god if god simply communicated with everyone. The people god chooses to act as a megaphone have strange criteria for their position.
Saul was in the middle of persecuting christians when he got a special visit from his god. Abraham had to be willing to send his soul to hell by attempting to kill his innocent son for his god to consider him a good candidate. So why are the rest of us in the dark? Do I have to damn my eternal soul to find the right way to paradise? What if I'm being tricked by this dubious Satan character? I'd be putting my faith in the wrong thing that convinced me it was telling me the truth. I haven't attempted to kill my family for god or sent christians to prison for their beliefs. Does that make me unqualified to get a straight answer from the creator of everything? We're in the dark, and theists are the blind leading the blind.
Often the paths theists lead the rest of us into are soaked in blood, so yes it's good to be skeptical when all of you are pointing in different directions. It is especially egregious when theists with different beliefs are telling us we're going to hell if we're following anyone other than them. Atheists have faith that something happened for us to be here. We are not convinced that faithful theists are right on how it happened. An atheist is no longer an atheist when a god convinces him of its existence. Your omniscient, omnipotent gods can easily clear up this confusion by communicating with all of us, but stay silent. And you're surprised when we believe gods aren't real and you're making shit up.
