Sea-ship navigators have to account for the curvature or they'll completely miss their destinations.
Radio waves can be transmitted to a specific place on earth and be missed everywhere else. It's why I can catch some AM stations from the other side of the country, even though there's only more AM stations sharing the same frequency than there are frequencies.
There are tons of experiments you can do yourself to test it, but you're too dumb to know that.
