Another year on, Omega wins best singles wrestler. Mitchell, best finishing move. Then, Omega, best technician. Mitchell wins the Intercontinental Championship. Omega wins Match of the year. Everybody knew, the collision between the two would break the scales, and the GJPW Dojo would have all the advertising it could ever need the moment these two mega stars went face to face.
So it was simultaneously the best and worst decision that Goon Japan Pro Wrestling ever made to keep the Breast Bout Machine and the [FIREBIRD] away from each other. Because the fans were dying to see it, and they were willing to spend out the pocket to get it. But just as a clash seemed inevitable, and fan support was at a fever pitch, the careers of Smith and Mitchell would drastically diverge. The [FIREBIRD] soon moved into the Deathmatch scene -- having already become a GJPW legend in her own right, with multiple GJPW Intercontinental Championship reigns to her name -- while Kelly Omega suddenly felt what it was like to have an army at her back.
