Like the good father loves his son and will discipline him when he does something wrong -- this hurts the son but is ultimately necessary so the son stops his bad behavior. So it is with God and humanity.
Even doing something like browsing 4chan, God clearly has a plan. Maybe this place made me an edgy atheist when I was 14 on /b/, but he never abandoned me, and now it is nice to see other people preach and try to save those who dwell in the den of iniquity.
