I'm only 23 but the biggest thing is that I didn't work hard enough during HS. HS was piss easy for me, I only needed to study the day before test to get an A, or B at worst. As a result, I never learned how to actually be disciplined and study regularly. When I came to college, I got fucking wrecked, I couldn't just get by with studying the day before but I somehow got by with Es and now I got kicked out in my 3rd year.
I should have done extra studying at home but I had no motivation to, I didn't really know anything about the world and thought it was just going to be this easy, my parents didn't force me, so I just played vidya most of the time. The only productive hobby I picked up was programming and thank god for that, otherwise I'd be flipping burgers right now.
Really, most of the stuff that I find useful in my job, I learned as a hobby. The school system fucking sucks. And I just wish I did more when I had so much spare time, I could have been running a business by now If I worked on actual useful skills all that time. And I don't really blame vidya, video games are just the thing I did because I didn't know what else to do, it was just fun and if I didn't do that, I'd be doing some other dumb shit.
I found a job as a junior software developer now, I'm getting experience and I'm fixing my habits to be more productive, and life is working out for me at least for now. I decided to start saving up money so I can eventually move to the US, which was my dream since I was like 15, and Europe is going to fucking shit anyways. Our president just posted on facebook that we need to punish people who post hatespeech and fake news on facebook, just like Germay does and everyone fucking agreed in the comments, and those who didn't were called fucking extremists.... No thanks, I'd rather have free speech and a right to bear arms.
