You had oppurtunity to do something yet all you did is wait and later whine on an online anonymous forum that you had no balls to make a single move. Do you really love her? Are you so long in friendship that you cannot really function as a pair?
If you want to hold her hand, do something about it. If you want to hug her, do something about it. If you want to invite her to a dinner at your home, do something about it. You seem to be so carefree around each other that even asking something as direct and weird as "can I hold your hand" wouldn't feel as creepy, although maybe a bit taboo if each one of you really see each other just as a "bro" of many years.
