When we are kids, we just want to have fun and play along, then suddenly a japanese kid knows that the country of his friend nuked his land, killing thousands, he is not to blame, but there is no way the same beautiful innocence will remain...there is no way they will play joyfully again
Then we link those feelings to our actions... turning them into political views, values and ideologies, forgetting the innocence completely, but it is still there, and it is anyone's weakest point, i will say no further upon this matter
