It's very bad for the alt-right and groups affiliated with it and will likely lead to their crackup. About time too, that entire sector of the political scene has been an unproductive backwater since late 2015. Showing up to a rally to "Unite The Right" with fascis, nazi flags, and Hitler salutes was fucking retarded and a losing strategy even before the deaths happened. As for the guy who did it, he was a schizo Nazi who took the "i'd just run them over LOL" threads people posted during BLM riots/protests seriously and LARPed someone to death. He'll go to prison, if not an asylum, and the stigma of what he did will attach to any right wing radical group for the next few years or so.
That said, it won't stop the violence in America. Militant left wingers have been attacking Trump rallies and supporters for about two years now and political violence has become a fixture in current American politics. This murder bought Antifa a HUGE amount of public goodwill, but just last week they were disdained by a good majority of Americans. It'll go back to that soon once all the literal Nazis are gone and they move on to harassing Libertarians or mainstream repubs.
At the end of the day, people like Spencer and Enoch are fucking done. They tried to build a political movement based on internet memes, backed losers with everything they had, and they'll go down hard. But it won't solve the brewing conflict in America.
TL;DR alt-right is fucked in the short term and we're all fucked in the long term
