In addition if we look at 1992 and 2008, the democrats flipped all the vulnerable seats compared to the last election. There are 10 swing seats, Trump would just have to get Ohio, Arizona, Montana, Nevada and that's a comfortable 54 and he's already within reach of those. A recession would push states like Pennsylvania and Michigan and Wisconsin into play, with the possibility Trump could get 60 seats.
They literally don't want that.
