He was in the beginning with God.
All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be through him was life,
and this life was the light of the human race;
the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
God came down as man to deliver us from ourselves.
He dragged himself through the streets filled with our sin so that He could redeem us.
His once favored people put Him to death so the sheep lost in the darkness could behold the Light.
When He perished, He conquered Hell and led the righteous to Heaven.
O sovereign Lord, behold us, and forgive our trespasses.
Our sons and daughters are lost in the ways of flesh, and have no knowledge of You.
"Our heritage is turned over to strangers, our homes, to foreigners." as Jeremiah said,
We have walked for so long in the void that we have forgotten the feeling of Light on our skin.
There is only constant frigidity; warmth has forgotten us.
The sin of man is great and the void likewise, but O Father, give us a glimpse of Light, so we can feel that warmth once again.
