I have a years-long ongoing argument with a close friend of mine about this exact topic, as I believe it is completely irrational for Jesus to identify as or have been considered a Jew. These conversations often take the turn into biblical revisionism, Bible version variations, translations, mistranslations and etymology, well known scribe copying mistakes (intentional or accidental) and extramural historical evidence.
