when 2008 hit they got hit bad as youth unemployment is usually double the average. then compound the fact that lefty teachers throughout their childhood education were brainwashed into getting dumb degrees. and parents who couldn't help them get a good financial start because they themselves got fucked and you have a generation that isn't getting married isn't buying homes and has no clue how it will be possible to retire.
