I'm just that far ahead of other NPD people. This recognition itself is a tool for validation. On the other hand, it just interests me. Apparently, it comes from growing up thinking you don't deserve love unless you're the absolute best, which is indeed how I've always felt. So unlike you, I'm not capable of recognizing my objective worth and rely on others to regulate it, which is basically the textbook definition of NPD. It's also why I naturally gravitate towards BPD people because they make you your favorite person and will practically isolate themselves, which is what I want people to do for me anyway, as otherwise I won't feel like I'm worth anything at all.
