Go confess to a priest. Jesus Himself gave the power to forgive sins to the apostles:
"If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” (John 20:23)
This power to forgive sins did not die with the apostles: the power was passed on, through the laying of the hands, to their successors. Their successors then laid hands on their successors, and in an unbroken chain from the hands of Christ to the modern day, all priests of an apostolic church (Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Church of the East, Oriental Orthodox) have had the laying on of the hands by a successor of the apostles.
Feel free to confess to your brothers, but remember that to be sure you are forgiven for your sins, you must visit a successor of the apostles, and confess, in a legitimate apostolic church.
Further, a reminder to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ - beyond the holy scriptures and sacraments themselves, there is nothing so edifying as reading the testimonies of the holy martyrs and saints known as the "church fathers". With them, we can see an early and authentic witness to the traditions of the earliest Christians - so filled with the Holy Spirit that they were willing to be killed for His sake.
Take a look at sites like the Christian Classics Ethereal Library (

Peace in Christ - love to you all. Et lux in tenebris lucet et tenebrae eam non comprehenderunt; keep shining in the darkness, brothers, for "No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house".
Jesus is Lord, amen.
