ended up calling the car dealership again to figure out exactly what recalls there are to take care of so i could decide whether or not to just drive on them for a year until it's my sister's problem and it turns out that my engine isn't under warranty until they fix this stuff despite the fact that only one of them could conceivably have any effect on the engine at all
