It's a shitty thing to have happen, but as someone who doesn't deserve to be punished for one's family's shitty personal relations, I did what I could to have it bounce off my shoulders.
You can love them both anyway, seperately. Their shit is their shit. You can step in if you want, but if you fear that it could risk your relationship with them, don't intervene, it may not be worth it, bro.
