There are more young right-wingers in the United States than there ever have been in its history following the rhetoric of Trompft and "right-wing" memes. Inevitably, the more people in a faction, the less particular its culture.
There was never a time that "right-wingers" were just objectively better at memes. It was a small amount of people from a niche culture that were producing a large amount of memes. Their culture was funny so the memes were effective. That faction has grown and thus its unique culture is diluted. Simple as.
TL;DR: the reduced quality of memes coming out of 4chan is the result of a massive growth in the Western right, combined with an influx of political refugees arriving on /pol/ after the great shoahs of 2020.
