Pure propaganda everywhere, added fructose in everything, more effective drugs than ever before. If addiction were to be described as a sort of compulsion to continue through diminishing or destructive returns, then it would go without saying that we are all addicted in this society. Addiction, in that model, is constantly doing less with more. More input, less output is the new constant. We are all doing less with more when our ancestors did more with less. The part that scares everyone is we all know it, yet the only way to get accepted by society at large is to denounce what is known on a deep level and to relish in depravity and degeneracy. We already live in a world where addiction is a fashion statement.
