>>12492565Maybe it was less alienating (you'd know who your neighbors were, where the food you grew went, you'd most likely get informed of community news through gossip, if you ever moved, it'd be to a nearby village and not some place on the other side of the world) but I doubt it was "comfy" (since all labor was manual, people had to fix their own clothes and house roofs, get drinking water all the way from wells, and if somebody got sick, they'd have to either rely on somebody else making home-made medicine with herbs available there, or wait several days for a doctor to come in riding by horse).
