but I think its actually more appropriate to view Israel as a kind of middle-eastern Ukraine
the way US empire works is we have a proxy state or vassal state in each region that basically enforces our hegemony.
We basically control all of europe directly, but we control the EU through our absolute control over Germany.
we have Japan and Taiwan in Asia
we have Ukraine in Russia
and we have Israel for the middle east
I think ultimately we use Israel to control the middle east rather than we are captured by the Israeli government.
The Ukraine example is instructive. You could make some argument that Ukrainians have captured our government and are dictating US policy, but that would reverse the relationship obviously. OUR interests are served at the EXPENSE of Ukraine
The same is going on in Israel. We recently made them attack Iran for their support of Ukraine even thought they've been trying very hard to stay our of the conflict, our interests were served and they are put in risk.
