idk. most mecha animes i've tried, i've disliked, except for code geass. and i don't like slice of life shit. also i HATE HATE HATE animes where every fight takes 10 minutes and there's a voice over describing how cool/surprising/hard to pull off every single move is and telling me what i should think about the way the fight is going. also don't want the main characters to be children or young teens, unless they grow up halfway or something.
i also like supernatural elements but that's not a requirement, samurai champloo and black lagoon are some of my favorite animus of all time. also i dig post apocalyptic stories.

i think i heard about an anime called magi that's supposed to have fleshed out magic systems but i've never watched it.
i actually meant about the second gen list but i don't see why they shouldn't be allowed in the recs list too. if i ever saw anything wrong with that, i can't remember what it was
