She can’t be absolved, she can’t be in a state of grace and she can’t take communion.
Why would I lie about this. It’s a major point of contention in our relationship that drives me crazy. And really, if a priest can’t withhold it..what’s the difference between a catholic and prot other than asking a mortal man for absolution. If he gives it unconditionally every week, no matter what.. does it not negate the whole point?
I sense a lot of hostility in the replies and honestly it’s the hostility I feel when I ask questions irl. I’ve had so many discussions and it always ends badly. I’m just telling you what I’ve seen and been told.
As for the incest. I’ve seen with my own eyes cousins hooking up because they only hang around each other. My girlfriends circle alone, there are over 200 1st-2nd cousins. Her ‘first love’ was a 2nd cousin. When I found that out it almost made me throw up. Then I found out her brother(s) molested her from the age of 5-14. All her friends and sisters share similar stories. It’s sickening.
