>[Well, let me tell you something, sisters. Sometimes you’re on top of the world, sister, making friends and accompanying them to ringside for a successful debut. And other times it comes crashing down and all starts to hurt inside. For Sola Fire her day had become more the latter.]
As she had said goodbye to Carmody, a text message from Mare had come through. Sola immediately panicked, and hadn’t even yet replied. She has a habit of saying dumb things and the embarrassment of trying to fix them sometimes just makes things worse than if she had just apologised from the beginning. She doesn't think things through, and sometimes misses obvious reasons that someone might be annoyed at her. And then as she was trying to work out what she could possibly say, another text had come through. A text from Thea Thority, letting Sola know that a match had been made official for the next show. Sola fire versus Karna. Immediate regret, immediate dread, immediate relapse from what had until that point been a really good day for her. And then Sola just happened to catch Nika’s little promo.
A common sight by this point, but the next person to walk into the Dojo -- and not immediately avoid eye contact and briskly walk away -- was going to have to console the rapidly deteriorating mental state of sweet Sola.
