Germany had the rest of Europe and the US to stop them. But if the US flips out this time, whose is going to stop us? The people who are just about at their limit with this shit this time are the same groups who stopped the Nazis before.
Maybe we'll lose to in the end. So we better to a good enough job that in the next cycle round of this shit, whether in 25 or 250 years, we'll be the bogeyman scary enough to inspire future peoples not to put up with this shit.
(That said, I hope we can leave a better legacy than the Nazis. We can admire the audacity and effectiveness of their rise without wanting to repeat the follies of their fall.)
