Essentially, the Alice Games is a challenge to determine who is the perfect doll with the victor harvesting the soul in order to become Alice. I don't know or remember how far back the dolls and game goes, although the earliest I know of is during the Victorian era ( 19th century).
The idea you suggested sound like a completely different genre and would seem quite a barbaric contrast to the genteel comportment of the dolls (tea time, manners, sophistication, etc). The idea actually sounds interesting given it appeals to my favourite genres: sci-fi, dystopian, robots, and some other I can't think of, sorry. A scientist mad with zeal playing god pitting his creations all born with free-will and consciousness, yet subservient to their creator set with the purpose of slaying each to see who is the ultimate creation. As the show goes on the robots start to seem more real, beyond metal and oil, reflecting characteristics that of a human as they explore the world.
