I wonder how much of these considerations also apply to western nations in some form or another.
Most of our governments do want the birth rate to be higher. There isn't much of a will, but there's some will. Not enough to prioritize it over their other plans when they conflict, but still. There are some attempts to encourage people forming new families. It's just not working. They've created a "pussy bubble" instead as some call it, and a lot of guys just give up. That's on top of a lot of the millennials being just too damn poor for it. And now they're starting to get a bit old to start a family, this isn't looking good.
