It also has a deep root in our culture, so a lot of older people are really good at it. That makes it easy for me to get help whenever I'm stuck on a pattern, or if I don't know how something is done.
Knitting patterns are just like pixel art in a way, so it's easy to make completely original designs if you're into that. My youngest cousin wants me to make him a pokemon-themed sweater, so I've been working on a design like that for his birthday. I personally am a big fan of the older designs from the fifties and back, but I will make whatever people want if it makes them happy.
I just like making stuff, I guess.
