i get what she means, just not why the fuck she'd say it like that
>i am a cisgender millennial who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorderyou and like 20% of the population
really hate like this overall. every day i feel more like people want to reduce themselves to a list of bullet points then yell "and that's a good thing!" why do you need to compartmentalize yourself then build such a deep ""pride"" for every single aspect in order to live life?
people are just nuanced with good and bad things about them. it's entirely inevitable that people will have different opinions on what's good and what's bad. it's really not that hard to self reflect when you have negative experiences then come to a decision about how you personally feel about your own qualities and whether you should change them.
in this case she's talking about a bunch of immutable shit as well. you don't need to be "proud" that you're gay or black or something because you just are so why let it occupy any space in your mind. i don't need to have pride that i'm short in order for it not to bother me when someone calls me a midget because i don't put stock in the opinion of anyone who would seriously feel strongly about me based on my height.
