>>13449778>foodGrocery store dumpsters are full of perfectly good food they have to throw away because it's past the sell by date. Just make sure you cook the fuck out of it or you'll get the shits because dumpsters are nasty. Most things work best as a soup or stew. If you find raw fish you can nail it to a piece of wood and roast it next to an open fire. Sometimes you'll have to eat stuff that's starting to go bad and sriracha sauce is your friend in that case.
>waterRain water is safe to drink unless you live somewhere with really bad air and water from other sources needs to be boiled for at least 10 minutes.
>toolsThis assumes you have at least $200 left or you can sell something to get it. Buy a backpack, a hatchet, a couple sturdy fixed blade knives, a whetstone, a hammer and nails, at least 50 feet of rope, a small cast iron pan with a lid, a small soup pot, a package of bic lighters and a package of gallon ziplock bags to keep stuff dry.
>shelterIf you set up a tent in the woods you'll definitely want something that zips up all the way and has insect mesh. If you have a cast iron pan with a metal lid you can shove hot coals in it before you go to bed, wrap that in a blanket and it'll help you stay warm at night after your fire is out.
>hygieneTry to camp out by a river or stream so you can bathe. If you have no toilet paper use wet moss. If your hands are covered in grease use water and ash from your fire pit to get it off but only use a little and don't scrub too hard.
