Time is not relevant to the universe's mechanics. Phenomena happen independent of time (ie: tachyons traveling) but we experience the event as having duration because we are actually viewing a history of a phenomena that already occurred. It's like watching a movie in slow motion.
Our pupils are blackholes and the reason we have the concept of "time" is because of the torpidity of photons. The thunder after lightning. This is why "time" is irrelvant in higher dimensions -- phenomena in those dimensions are not limited by the speed of light.
As an aside, this is how psychics predict the future. Your tachyons have already created your future, well before you experience it. This is because experiences are slowed by the speed of light, causing the sensation of duration, however the events have actually already occurred.
