Yeah it seems to have gotten screwed pretty hard by the outbreak.
Word, but apparently with the downside of them not being able to figure out that this is the problem as when I was initially trying to figure stuff out, not one of the results from the numerous people over the years who have experienced that connection issue was resolved or had a working fix for it and the oldest stuff was from 2013 I think.
Especially weird since one of the most frequent suggestions for "fixing" it seems to be to go into those exact same registry settings but then turning it off altogether which just permanently breaks spotify rather than fixing anything.
Genuinely don't get how they could be so close to the solution and yet miss it entirely. Seems some were having issues with the check itself turning itself off because of some windows bug so it should be doubly apparent to them by now that this shortcut is causing issues.
